Since the launch of Barren, we have worked hard on fixing bugs and balancing the game.  Thanks to user feedback on our first beta test, we have updated the game to make the following changes:

Balance Changes

• Added a supply crate that occasionally spawns on a random location in the map to provide resources - drops heals, ammo, cash and other items upon destruction.
  
• Added 3 enemy variants, each stronger than the previous, appearing in a different color and with different abilities.
  • Acid Enemies: +50% damage, +150% maximum health, 2x cash drops. Attack inflicts poison.
  • Lightning Enemies: +100% damage, +300% maximum health, 3x cash drops. Attack inflicts burning.
  • Inferno Enemies: +150% damage, +500% maximum health, 5x cash drops. Attack inflicts burning twice as long than lightning enemies.
• Limited the purchase count of the Extra Cash upgrade to 5 in the shop and decreased its effects on free upgrades.
• Increased the cost of the Life Steal upgrade in the shop and decreased its effects on free upgrades.
• Reduced the chances of an enemy dropping a health kit or a lucky coin.
• Reduced the initial amount of enemies that are summoned on the first waves.
• Enemies' pathfinding ability now slowly improve over time.

Technical Changes and Bug Fixes

• To prevent too much cash from piling up, cash drops have been made more compact at larger amounts.
• Enemies are instantiated on another thread to prevent performance drops when huge amounts of them are created at once.
  • If a thread isn't available, enemies need to spawn synchronously.
• Some shaders have been disabled on the web release due to browser limitations. Play the native version of the game for the best graphics.
• Fixed items and upgrades sometimes not loading on web release.
• Fixed shooting functionality not working on web release.
• Fixed some visual bugs with enemies - e.g., particles emitting from the base of the worm instead of from its mouth.
